Office manager Stephan Taylor

We have been delighted to welcome Stephen Taylor to our team as Office Manager.

Stephen is taking over all of the invoicing, administration and day-to-day office support. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays Stephen is available to take any of your questions between 9-4 and Jen and Kev will still be available on Mondays and Fridays for urgent accounts-related queries.

On Monday we will also welcome a new trainee lawyer, Tom Baker to the team.  We know Tom will be a real hit with our clients and we look forward to seeing him develop.

We pride ourselves on our relationships with clients and are aware that our industry is full of call centre-type businesses. This is not who we are and it will not be how we grow!  We are developing a method of growth that will maintain the close, personal relationships we have with all of our clients and that you will still benefit from the best advice and support!

Fire and Rehire, a new Code of Practice

Fire and Rehire, a new Code of Practice

In one of the final Acts of the Conservative government, a Code of Practice on dismissal and re-engagement (the Code) more commonly known as “fire and rehire” was passed through Parliament and came into effect on 18 July 2024. This is a statutory code which must be taken into account but it is nowhere near as robust as the Labour Party would like (see our review of the 2024 manifesto here), we can therefore, expect to see further changes to the fire and rehire rules.
